Ahhhh, Music. I really couldn’t imagine a world without music. Music I feel like is a love language and is a form of living. You can move through music, you can smile through music, you can cry through music, you can feel through music. The music industry is huge I don’t know not one person that doesn’t listen to music on either apple music or Spotify. If it’s not one of those platforms then it is one of the other ones. Artist aren’t just artists anymore they are worldwide figures and some people feel like they can’t live their lives without listening to certain songs. For some people their favorite artist is their favorite person next to their parents because music is so emotional.

What a lot of people don’t know about me as I am a country artist fan. As a black man in America a lot of people are skeptical or judgy about this concept, but truthfully I don’t care. I really enjoy country music it is one of my forms of relaxation. One of my favorite artist is Riley Green. My fault album from him is called, “Different ‘Round Here.” Many of his biggest hits comes from this album and also my favorite song called, “Break up More Often.” The record label who owns this song and album is called, “Big Machine Label Group.” To listen to this song on apple music it cost me $16.99 per month. Riley Green makes 1 cent per listen of this song and apple music makes just under a cent per steam.

This next one comes from my childhood and especially my dad. I grew up in Fallston, Maryland and we lived in a town house with a deck. My dad might have loved this deck more than he loved me. He invested in it all the time with an awning, an outdoor tv, furniture, grill etc. We sat out there all the time and listen to the surround speakers on high volume and one of his favorite artist to play out there was Anthony Hamilton. I have vague memories of listening to him and enjoying the songs. Now as I have grown older I’ve added a lot of his songs to my playlists. One of my favorite songs and albums from him is called, “Comin’ from Where I’m From.” The record label who owns this song is called, “RCA/JIVE Label Group. Who is owned by Sony Music Entertainment. The songs cost me the same $16.99 per mont. Anthony Hamilton gets 1 cent per stream and apple music makes just under that 1 cent which comes down to $0.008. It was released in 2003.

This next one is one of my recent favorites. My home girl put me on to this song as apparently this song is popular with the girls. We usually listen to it once a week because it is now both of our personal favorites. The vibe is kind of summery, but sad if you listen to the lyrics. The intro I would say is the best part it feels like the song itself is coming alive. The song is by ROLE MODEL and it is called, “Old Recliners.” This song you could listen to at anytime. This song is produced and owned by Interscope Records. The album and song was released in 2025. The song cost me again $16.99 a month. ROLE MODEL makes 1 cent per stream and again the streaming service apple music makes just under that at $0.008.

In conclusion, the digital media has a huge impact on the music industry. These streaming services are making huge bucks as there are billions of streams per day. The plus is you dont have to buy a record player and then buy CDs anymore to listen to your favorite artist. Your favorite songs and artist are very easily accessible at all times. The artist makes more money and they even have different cost effective options like if you’re a college student you are able to pick a plan that is only $5 per month instead of the $16.99 which is apart of family plan on, “ONE Apple.”
